During 2007 the Critical Care Unit staff and the Falls Committee have developed and implemented action plans designed to positively impact the rate of falls. With the assistance of nursing leadership and the direct care nurses on the Unit we have seen a very positive trend in increased safety awareness, improved identification of patients at fall risk, and a significant decrease in the number of patient falls.
